Piña Colada Green Smoothie

I love experimenting with green smoothies! This Piña Colada Green Smoothie is a very simple, tasty one, that’ll make you feel like you’re off on a tropical vacation!
Greens are full of vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, fiber, and other healthy things that your body needs to heal itself and function well. Adding greens to smoothies makes it possible for you to eat more of them than you would if you only ate salads. Blending the greens also helps make the nutrients more accessible to your body, because it basically starts the digestion process for you.
I believe that God designed us with the ability to heal from many diseases and other ailments without drugs. We just have to feed ourselves the right nutrients! Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad that drugs exist…there’s a place for them. The part I don’t like is how they are handed out like candy! Shouldn’t drugs and invasive procedures be the last resort, instead of the first?
I also added chia seeds to this smoothie, because they have omega-3 fats and protein. The fat and protein help slow down the sugar from the pineapples as it enters your system. Coconut also helps you process sugar, so this is a great smoothie for diabetics! One other health benefit of the Piña Colada Green Smoothie is that pineapples have bromelain in them, which is an enzyme that helps break down protein. It is also believed by many to be anti-inflammatory.
- 1 Cup Light Coconut Cream
- 1 Cup Frozen Pineapples
- 3 Tbsp Pineapple Juice
- 2 Large Handfuls of Organic Baby Spinach
- 1 Tbsp Chia Seeds
Place the ingredients in a blender and run until it’s smooth. I topped mine with some extra pineapple chunks, and of course the umbrella tooth pick
…gotta take those mama refill moments. Emi took my lead and made her own. The kids love this one!
