Raw Spiced Apples

Raw Spiced Apples

I think the Fall is my favorite time of year!  I love the cozy flavors, but Fall food tends to be very full of sugar and fat!  One of our traditional breakfasts (or breakfast for dinner) is pumpkin pancakes and homemade applesauce.  These Raw Spiced Apples are a bit healthier than cooked applesauce, and they are the perfect partner for those pancakes!

I prefer not to cook fruit, because the nutrients in it tend to be very sensitive to heat.  Vitamin C is especially sensitive!  I also do my best to keep skin on fruit when possible, because it has a ton of fiber.  Here is my recipe for healthy, tasty, raw spiced apples.  The kids totally LOVE it, and say it “tastes like Fall.”

Place all of the ingredients in your food processor, and run it until you get the desired consistency.  We like to make “apple tacos,” where we wrap up the apples in pancakes.
