Grilled Steak and Veggie Arugula Salad

I love arugula, and did you know that it is a cruciferous vegetable?  Cruciferous veggies are arguably the most beneficial for health, and they taste really good!  This dinner salad had grilled steak, red peppers, and onions on top of brown rice, on top of arugula.  For flavor I put a little organic balsamic vinaigrette over everything.  Notice that the meat is really used as a garnish, not as the main attraction.  Americans generally eat way more meat than what their bodies can handle, and I’m quite sure that this is one of the major contributing factors to heart disease, cancer, and other diseases so prevalent in our society.  It also creates a massive problem with the way animals are raised and treated.  When you grill meat or veggies try not to make them extra crispy and black.  That tasty charred stuff is carcinogenic (can cause cancer).
