Strawberry Chocolate Smoothie (Paleo)
We’re starting to have some pretty warm weather here in Southern California, and warm days put me in the mood for ice cream! These Strawberry Chocolate Smoothies will satisfy your sweet tooth, while providing your body with tons of healthy vitamins, minerals, and other healthy nutrients. They’re super rich and creamy, and taste like milkshakes.
I like to sneak cruciferous veggies into my smoothies. Cauliflower is perfect, because it’s one of the most healthy foods in the world, and it’s white, so it doesn’t mess up the color of the smoothie. It is high in vitamins C, K, and B6, folate, pantothenic acid, choline, and fiber. This superfood even has some omega-3 fatty acids in it, which are heart healthy and anti-inflammatory. It also helps fight cancer.
Before we get to the recipe for the Strawberry Chocolate Smoothies, I want to invite you to join with others who are making healthy changes. I’d love to walk alongside you in your journey towards wholeness and health! Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full!” Freedom from food addictions is part of having a truly full life.
- 3/4 Cup Frozen Strawberries
- 1/2 Cup Unsweetened Almond Milk
- 1/4 Cup Cauliflower (Chopped into small pieces)
- 1 Tsp Vanilla
- 1 1/2 Tbsp Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 2 Tbsp Raw Cashews
- 3-4 Dates (or to taste)
- Raw Cacao Nibs (optional, for sprinkling)
- Combine all of the ingredients, except cacao nibs, in your blender and run it until it's smooth. Sprinkle the smoothie with cacao nibs, if desired. Enjoy!
If you have trouble getting the ingredients to blend try adding a little more liquid. Play around with the amounts of each ingredient until it tastes just right to you! If you like it sweeter add more dates.
