Power Packed Turkey Hamburgers

Powerpacked Turkey Burgers

I call these burgers “power packed,” because they’re full of healthy herbs and spices!  If you’re like me, and don’t like the flavor of ground turkey, you will probably like these, because the spices mask the flavor of the turkey.  When you grill them try to go light on the burned sections, because burned meat is carcinogenic.  As you can see from the picture, we’re still working on cooking them through without burning them.  Here’s the recipe: 1 Lb Lean Turkey Meat (93% fat free) 1 1/2 Tsp Salt 1/2 Tsp Freshly Ground Pepper 1 Tsp Turmeric 1 Tsp Smoked Paprika 1/2 Tsp Smoke Flavor 1 Tbsp Dried (or fresh) Chives 1 Tsp Garlic Powder 1/2 Tsp Celery Seed Mix all the ingredients together, form it into burger patties, then grill until they are cooked through.  I ate mine on a cauliflower bun (still working on that recipe, not ready to share…it’s gonna be good, though), with a small slice of smoked gouda, avocado, and black currant whole grain mustard (Trader Joe’s again).  Try loading on a bunch of greens, too.  So yummy!  My favorite brand of store bought gluten free buns is Canyon Bakehouse. They’re made of entirely whole grains and very tasty!  You can find them at Sprouts. Turkey Burgers
